With a built in theme, history, color scheme and almost guaranteed good weather, the 4th of July holiday practically builds its own party every year. This year, what better way to bask in this glorious weather than with a 4th of July Americana style lawn party- a holiday party inspired by the design of times gone by. Thinking road trips, country fairs, and good old-fashioned lawn games our July 4th vision this year begged for a rustic outdoor setting.
Whether neighboring a big red barn, cabining on a shell-ridden beach or a picnicking on a picket-fenced lawn, a holiday so inherently rich in theme and character means you can keep the décor low-key (for this all-American theme, keep the look from feeling kitschy by decorating in faded or vintage shades of red, white and blue), the food simple, and the spirit of summer freedom lasting all day long. So, string some homemade bunting, hang some tea-light laden lanterns, dust off the grill, stock up on sticks and marshmallows and dig out those lawn games to tackle this heat wave head on, eat good food and gather with friends and family.
