One of our favorite artisanal textile designers, Madeline Weinrib launched her beautiful, and wildly inspiring ecommerce site just a few weeks ago and we’re all a flurry with IKAT.  Creator of colorful rugs and patterned pillows, Madeline is widely known for her embrace of rich hues, deep earthly tones and her devotion to pattern in design.

Inspired by her wide global travel, the bits and pieces she’s collected, global artists and her own artistic passion, Madeline paints AND creates this beautiful eclectic mix of vintage textiles, colorful fabrics, tapestries and other pieces that we’re dying to dot our homes with.  The kicker?  She’s the great-granddaughter of the founder of the land of our collective design dreams, New York’s famed ABC Carpet & Home (think twinkly chandeliers, plush rugs, exotic décor).  Needless to say, her ardor for beautiful furnishings and home design has obviously been well-groomed…incase you weren’t already sold.

An little on Madeline from her new website: “Admired by tastemakers worldwide, Madeline Weinrib works closely with artisans from around the world to preserve the integrity of centuries old techniques, while applying her contemporary perspective to resonate with today. Inspired by the past, celebratory of the present, Madeline creates timeless heirlooms for the future.”

With Madeline in mind, this week we thought we’d dig up a few IKAT-inspired pieces in all price ranges…
