The Children’s Museum
Throughout the next few weeks the Seattle Children’s museum is exploring different cultural holidays during this festive season. This weekend they will be Exploring Diwali. Come bring the kiddos to the Festival of Lights to learn something new. This will be a great chance to try different foods, learn new games and participate in activates that will teach everyone in the family something new about this holiday. The Seattle Children’s Museum is just a 10-15 drive from Queen Anne.
Julianna Barwick Concert
If you’re looking for a musical evening The Fremont Abbey Arts Center, near Magnolia, has what you’re looking for. They are happy to welcome Julianna Barwick, along with Hannah Epperson, this Friday night. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets are just $15 at the door. Don’t miss this unique artist who has toured with bands such as Sigur ROS. The performance is open for all ages. Due to the nature of this performance, be sure to wear quiet shoes and bring cameras without the shutter noise so as to disrupt the audience members around you. And don’t forget, all of the proceeds will go to help support Literacy Source programs.
Seattle Women Make Art – Again!
Come out to support local artists at Jackson Place Co-Housing located south of the Queen Anne area. This Saturday they will be hosting an art show to showcase female artists from the Seattle area. These talented women will be exhibiting their unique work beginning at 10am. You are sure to be dazzled by all types of artwork, from art gourds, to one-of-a-kind jewelry, exclusive photography and much more. Please attend and support our local artists.
5K Turkey Trot
This Sunday, at Marina Park in Kirkland begins this year’s annual 5K Turkey Trot. The proceeds from this event go to support the various social services offered by Hopelink. Day-of-event registration is $40 per person, or $35 dollars if you are participating with a group. The race begins at 11am sharp! Be sure to bring your kids and pets, stroller and pet registration are free. The event registration begins at 10am and also includes a fair, hot chocolate, and prize drawings.
The Modern American Chicken — Café Nordo
Sunday night come out for a culinary experience like no other. Chef Nordo is back and bringing his Carnal Food Movement with him. Come and enjoy a night to remember as your prix-fixe dinner menu takes you through the life of a chicken, from birth to your plate. All of the food is locally sourced and the menu is meticulously planned, and can change without notice. Come out to the historic Washington Hall, located at 153 14th Avenue, Seattle, just 10 minutes away from the Capitol Hill and Madrona neighborhoods and see what all the excitement is about. This Sunday will be your last night to enjoy this unique theatrical dinner. This event is 21 and up.
