Bennion & Deville Weekend Roundup: December 20-22

It’s that time of year when kids are finishing up with school, winter break is just about to start, and the holidays are in full swing. In order to make entertaining easier during this season here are our top picks for some fun this weekend.

The Lights of Christmas Nightly Festival 
Bennion & Deville Fine Homes, Seattle christmasThe Lights of Christmas Nightly Festival, located at Warm Beach Camp in Stanwood, WA, is sure to please the entire family. Only an hour from Kirkland, The Lights of Christmas Nightly Festival boasts over a million lights. This event will continue to go through this weekend (December 20-22) and next weekend (December 26-29). Festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will go on until 10:00 p.m. The festival will have many attractions, such as music, theater, crafts, pony rides, a petting farm and even Polar Express Train Rides. Guests will have time to shop, enjoy a dinner theater and even visit with Santa Claus. The price is $11 for seniors, military, and children under 13 years old, and $15 for ages 13-59. This weekend’s lineup includes:

  • Friday, December 20: In the Spotlight Dance and Andy & Joy
  • Saturday, December 21: Monroe Concert Band and Jerry Miner
  • Sunday, December 22: Premiere Dance Center and Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band
  • December 29 the Warm Beach Camp event will be “Choose Your Own Price,” there will be no minimum requirement for entrance into the event.

Shoreline Solstice Stroll 
Bennion and Deville Fine Homes IncThe Kruckeberg Botanic Garden is hosting the Shoreline Solstice Stroll this weekend. Located only 20 minutes from Capitol Hill, this once a year event begins Friday, December 20, and ends Sunday, December 21. The event is open from the beginning of sunset at 4:30 p.m. and will end at 9:00 p.m. on both days. This year Cynthia Knox, the creative director of the SummerSet Arts Festival, has partnered with the Kruckeberg Botanic Garden to create art especially for the Stroll. Enter a magical world of delicate orbs, giant flowers, and a “hobbit hive” in this one of a kind setting. The Garden will be providing warm beverages and cookies for everyone to enjoy. There is no fee for this event, however donations are requested and greatly appreciated. Come and light up the longest day of the year!

Burke Museum: Fish & Shells
Bennion & Deville Windermere Seattle Real Estate AgentsIf you are looking to break up the holiday festivities the Burke Museum may just have what you’re looking for. Throughout the month of December they will have a special display of fish and shells that are not typically available to the public. This special exhibit is thanks to Dr. Phillip and Sandra Nudelman who donated around 100,000 shells, making this event possible and will be available on Saturdays and Sundays until the end of the month. The Museum is located 15 minutes from Queen Anne. General admission is $10.
