When the traffic slow’s down because the glare is too bright, sunglass sales start to top any other city’s (check #23), the Blue Angels start to practice routines louder and lower over lakefront neighborhoods, West Seattle’s Alki Beach crowds could fool you into thinking you’ve landed on Muscle Beach, the stream of tourists posing under Pike Place’s Starbucks are wearing cruise lanyards, people that have craved the heat for the last 9 months start to complain about it, you’re hard pressed to find a patch of grass at Madison Park beach, Duck Dodge seems to take up all of Lake Union, Westward & Little Gull runs out of Rosé on the deck and white legs and manicured toes sprout like spring flowers…we know the sun has landed in Seattle for a little while.
Summer chimed in earlier than usual this year (normally we don’t rely on Seattle to offer us much more than a teaser day or two before July 15th) but this year it is in full swing and laying the heat on thick. A ten day forecast of temperatures reaching a near 90 degrees means we’ll all be seeking a little evening breeze. We fished through our listings for some of our best outdoor retreats to give you a taste of what summer nights in some Bennion & Deville homes might play out like.
