Juicebox Sways Seattleites into Juicing

It’s the New Year and 2014 is sure to bring promise for the future, and new beginnings. Every year millions of people make New Year’s Resolutions to get those new beginnings up and running. The most popular resolutions typically have an end goal of weight loss and living a healthier lifestyle. New to Capitol Hill is the health-infused juice bar, Juicebox. Their goal is to help keep your lifestyle changes on track.

Juicebox is run by Kari Brunson, a former ballet performer  turned line cook, and Brandin Myett the former sous chef at La Bete, and How to Cook a Wolf. The concept originally came to life at Seattle’s own Broadway Farmers Market located at the corner of Broadway Ave E and E Pine St at the Seattle Central Community College (open Sundays 11am until 3pm). In November of 2012 Juicebox opened a popup location in La Bete. Every Thursday and Friday from 7am to 1pm Juicebox whipped up its adventurous concoctions to serve to thirsty patrons. November 18th of last year brought Juicebox to its brick and mortar home, here in Capitol Hill.

In addition to having their own cleanse, Juicebox is an organic juice bar and cafe that serves organic cold-pressed, small batch, raw juices. Each contains approximately two or more pounds of fresh and local produce. Their breakfast and lunch menu is vegetable based cuisine. They offer one, three or five (or more) day consecutive juice cleanses.

Before you start any drastically different diet regimens it is important to consult a professional. Juicebox has gone ahead and take this step out for you. Their resident nutrition consultant leads the guided cleanse and is there to help with any questions you may have about their various cleanses.

The vegetable-based morning and lunch menus are updated daily to ensure the freshest and most seasonal products are being used. Their extensive drink menu consists of several different varieties to wet your whistle. Sips are cold-pressed juices such as the Blood Julius, this tasty treat contains carrots, blood orange, and turmeric root. They also offer three different Blendeds. One such drink (listed as a) on the menu) is made from cocoa nib, banana, date, and almond. For the less adventurous they also offer coffee and teas. The teas are listed as Remedy Teas and contain flavors such as Ginger Zest, or Precious Eyebrows Green. If you are in a hurry and need a small pick me up, they also offer ginger shots that are made with local raw honey.

This new addition to the already bustling Capitol Hill area is a welcomed one, and will continue to contribute to the growing diversity and expansion of this beloved neighborhood.  Just stepping into their beautiful space makes you feel better, and the juices we’ve tried so far are delicious to boot!

Juicebox is located at 1517 12th Ave. Suite 100 Seattle, WA 98122
Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8AM to 4PM. Saturday-Sunday starting at 10AM to 4PM.
You can call ahead for pick up at 206-607-7866, they ask that for large orders you allow for at least 30-45 minutes for your order to be filled.

Simply Seattle – Foggy Lake Union & Seattle’s Houseboat Community

We passed through Seattle’s Lake Union houseboat community on the way to work this morning just to snap a picture or two of the jaw-dropping view on lake.  With the slow change of seasons from summer to fall complete, and this cold front having moved in entirely, the bright winter sun we’ve been so lucky to hold on to almost all the way through November showed off Seattle in all it’s sparkly glory again this morning.

Nestled between Downtown, Elliot Bay and Lake Washington, Lake Union’s light almost seems to creep in westward through the Montlake Cut, beneath both bridges to begin tackling the thick fog bank that looms over the lake many mornings and brightening the rest of the city.  This morning’s fog was spectacular, in the early hours, it hid the lake entirely, breaking up as the sun rolled over Capitol Hill and started to illuminate Queen Anne’s Eastern face.  Later morning revealed a still, shimmering surface dotted with kayakers and reflecting the beginnings of a sleepy Seattle skyline. The effects were almost ethereal, and we captured the moment for some further bragging via the blogosphere.

Celebrating Stacey Zorzi’s 15th Anniversary with Bennion & Deville Fine Homes

Bennion & Deville Fine Homes, WindermereThis week Stacey Zorzi celebrates her 15-year anniversary with the Bennion & Deville Fine Homesteam in Seattle. Since joining the team as transaction manager in 1999, Zorzi has become an integral part of the company’s success as Bennion and Deville Fine Homes has evolved into a hallmark example of a progressive, luxury real estate team serving all of Seattle, the Eastside, and the greater Puget Sound region.

Prior to working for Bennion and Deville Fine Homes’ owners Bob Bennion and Bob Deville, Zorzi was a licensed real estate assistant for an agent on the Eastside. When a position became available withBennion & Deville in 1999, she took the opportunity. “I was attracted to the position because even at the time, the Bobs were known as this successful, dynamic duo that were selling all these homes. I loved being busy and I was really thrilled about being a part of a wonderful team that had such a great reputation.” Zorzi was hired as a transaction manager for her strong passion for helping people solve problems and achieve their goals, as well as her demonstrated ability to understand the unique needs and demands of real estate clients.

Zorzi has assisted Bennion & Deville Fine Homes in achieving many years of success. Her dedication in focusing on the special needs of their clients has been well rewarded, earning them a highly loyal clientele. “She is a true model of consistency for both the company and our clients,” says Bob Bennion, president and co-owner of Bennion & Deville Fine Homes. “She places incredible value on her relationships with people and that’s the bar she has set on our team. She has used her depth of experience and capability to care for our clients and to really help us grow the business into what it has become today.”

Fifteen years, and over 600 transactions amounting to more than $750,000,000 in sales, Zorzi has helped thousands of clients settle into Seattle homes.

“We spend so much time with our clients at integral points in their life that we develop these relationships with them that fall under very unique circumstances. When a deal closes, as a joke I often say to people ‘we’re not breaking up, we’re just moving on,’” says Zorzi. “I have met so many amazing people over the years that have become friends. Working at the tail-end of getting a deal closed means I work hard to represent the Bobs and our team to make sure that clients leave with the best experience possible. Getting to celebrate milestones in their lives as they return to us for business when they get married, have children, move in other directions, etc. is truly a blessing.”

In small, tight knit communities like Seattle’s, reputation means a lot. Bennion & Deville have long been recognized for their commitment to their clients, as well as the professionalism, reliability and integrity with which they conduct business. As organizations often take on the personality of those who work for them, Stacey is no exception to this reputation. “She is an amazing person on many, many levels,” says Bob Bennion. “She always considers the client’s needs before her own, makes her schedule accommodate theirs, and will work any hour of the day on behalf of a buyer or a seller. She approaches every day with enthusiasm and determination and that kind of attitude is infectious in this business.”

Stacey Zorzi celebrates her 15th anniversary with the Bennion & Deville team & Windermere coworkers Evan Wyman, Mary Snyder & Jane Johnson at the Georgian in Seattle.

Most importantly, Zorzi gets the job done. As a Seattle native, she has extensive knowledge of Seattle and the Eastside areas. She specializes in closing and securing transactions with buyers and sellers who can be assured, based on her guidance and the efforts of Bennion & Deville’s full service team, that their transactions will close on schedule and smoothly.

“I have felt humbled and lucky every day to have lived out a career with the Bobs. Over the years they have built up my confidence level and taught me so much about the business for which I could not be more grateful,” concluded Zorzi. “We work so hard to provide clients with the best experience possible and I could only be so lucky to work with such a wonderful team for many years to come.”

Luxe Portfolio Increases Presence In Chinese Market

First Issue of Unique Homes China, Bennion & Deville

As members of exclusive luxury marketing partner, Luxury Portfolio International, “the largest global network of premier locally branded companies dominated by many of the world’s most powerful independent luxury brokerages,” Bennion & Deville Fine Homes Inc. has the ability to provide exposure of our luxury properties to high-net-worth individuals on a global scale.  Through assisting us in providing exposure through online videos, slideshows, verbiage translated into 9 languages, and beautiful print campaigns our membership with Luxury Portfolio allows us to connect with a powerful worldwide network to market our listings.

With a growing number of Chinese buyers penetrating the U.S. real estate market, it is ever more important for us to market properties to the full scope of prospective buyers, including internationally.  As the Chinese are now second only to the Canadians when it comes to buying real estate in the United States, we have recognized an increased need for more property exposure among Chinese buyers.

In Love With Ikat

Bennion and Deville IKAT 1

One of our favorite artisanal textile designers, Madeline Weinrib launched her beautiful, and wildly inspiring ecommerce site just a few weeks ago and we’re all a flurry with IKAT.  Creator of colorful rugs and patterned pillows, Madeline is widely known for her embrace of rich hues, deep earthly tones and her devotion to pattern in design.

Bennion and Deville IKAT 2

Inspired by her wide global travel, the bits and pieces she’s collected, global artists and her own artistic passion, Madeline paints AND creates this beautiful eclectic mix of vintage textiles, colorful fabrics, tapestries and other pieces that we’re dying to dot our homes with.  The kicker?  She’s the great-granddaughter of the founder of the land of our collective design dreams, New York’s famed ABC Carpet & Home (think twinkly chandeliers, plush rugs, exotic décor).  Needless to say, her ardor for beautiful furnishings and home design has obviously been well-groomed…incase you weren’t already sold.

Bennion & Deville Fine Homes Inc. IKAT 3

An little on Madeline from her new website: “Admired by tastemakers worldwide, Madeline Weinrib works closely with artisans from around the world to preserve the integrity of centuries old techniques, while applying her contemporary perspective to resonate with today. Inspired by the past, celebratory of the present, Madeline creates timeless heirlooms for the future.”

With Madeline in mind, this week we thought we’d dig up a few IKAT-inspired pieces in all price ranges…
