Bennion and DevilleFor those of you not on the open house circuit on Wednesday, be sure to swing through downtown Seattle to help welcome the Seahawks post their throttling of the Denver Broncos as the 12th man takes to the streets to cheer our boys home.  Wear your blue and green to join in celebrating our first championship win and a great achievement for the franchise.  The plan for the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl celebration has the parade kicking off at 11am on Fourth Ave, just south of Denny, and heading South towards CenturyLink Field where the  party will end at around 1:30pm.  We hear rumors of team appearances, parade floats, and even Seattle’s other beloved local, Macklemore so the entertainment value should be huge!! Weekend Roundup- MLK Weekend, Seahawks Playoffs

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day means an extra day to relax and play this weekend, but more importantly, an extra day  to celebrate our Seahawks eminent win over the 49ers this Sunday to secure our spot in the Superbowl 🙂 .  To those of you lucky enough to be pocketing some of those golden tickets, cheer loudly, dance loyally (Macklemore is, after all Seattle’s ultimate 12th man), and do us proud; the rest of us will be rooting for our boys from the comfort of our own homes. Fifty percent of proceeds will go directly to the non-profit which provides couples facing terminal illnesses or life-changing circumstances weddings that they otherwise couldn’t afford. The event will take place from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18 at Cedarbrook Lodge’s Cedars Ballroom. Featuring over 500 dress designs, all for only $150, this event is a great opportunity for brides-to-be to find their dream dress at dream prices. 40th Annual Model Railroad Show
This weekend marks The Pacific Science Center’s 40th Annual Model Railroad Show. Perfect for the whole family, the event lets visitors explore dozens of model railroad displays, discover the history of the region’s railroad system and build their own LEGO trains at interactive stations. The show will be open from Saturday, January 18 through Monday, January 20. Tickets are included in the cost of general admission to The Pacific Science Center. Learn more here.

14th Annual Seattle Aquarium Octopus Census
Calling all divers! If you are looking for something more adventurous this weekend, this may be for you. The Seattle Aquarium needs your help in this weekend’s 2014 Octopus Census in Puget Sound, north of Magnolia. The annual survey seeks to collect information about the habitats, size and location of octopi from dive sites including Sund Rock, Octopus Hole, Flagpole, Jorsted Creek and Black Point, among others.

Hoping to see a giant octopus on your dive? Here’s a tip: last year the highest number of giant octopi were recorded at the aquarium’s Sunrise dive location!
